UAE VAT, Corporate Tax & e-invoicing
Odoo Set Up for UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and E-invoicing
Yes, Odoo handles UAE VAT. Odoo’s UAE localisation includes the UAE chart of accounts, 5% standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt and reverse-charge VAT, and a VAT return report in the FTA’s VAT201 layout that your team reviews before filing on EmaraTax.
We set up the UAE localisation in every UAE project, tag your accounts for Odoo’s Corporate Tax report together with your accountant, and prepare your invoice data for the Accredited Service Provider you appoint for e-invoicing.
UAE chart of accounts and VAT
The UAE chart of accounts and VAT taxes for standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt and reverse-charge transactions, so each invoice and bill lands in the right box of the return.
VAT201 return for EmaraTax
Odoo builds the VAT return from your invoices and bills in the FTA’s layout. You check the figures in Odoo, then file them on the EmaraTax portal.
Corporate Tax reporting
Corporate Tax is 9% on taxable income above AED 375,000. We tag your accounts so Odoo’s Corporate Tax report shows the figures your accountant needs for the return.
E-invoicing readiness
UAE e-invoicing uses the PINT AE format through Accredited Service Providers and is being phased in from 2027. We tidy the invoice data in Odoo and connect it to the provider you choose.
Moving to Odoo
Outgrowing Spreadsheets or Your Accounting Package?
Spreadsheets and accounting packages cope until stock, sales, purchasing, projects and payroll need to share the same data. Odoo brings them into one system, with VAT and Corporate Tax reporting built in.
We move your data in test runs first, so your team can check customers, TRNs, VAT balances and history before anything changes. You switch over once you have signed off, and keep the old system for reference.
Odoo migration in the UAE →01
Map your data and processes
We review what you keep in spreadsheets, your accounting package or an older ERP, and agree what moves to Odoo and how it is structured.
02
Migrate and reconcile
Customers, suppliers, products, open balances and VAT accounts are loaded into a test database and reconciled against your last VAT return.
03
Switch over and support
After sign-off we run the final load away from VAT filing dates, go live with your team and stay close through the first month-end.
How we work
How a UAE Odoo Project Works
Every project follows four stages, phased so each department moves to Odoo without disrupting trade. Our Riyadh team works one hour behind UAE time, with London and Pakistan alongside, so meetings fit the UAE working day.
01
Discovery and scope
Online workshops with each team map processes, entities, reports and integrations, ending in a written scope, plan and proposal.
02
Configure and build
We set up the Odoo apps you need with the UAE localisation, approval rules and any customisation or integration agreed in the scope.
03
Migrate, test and train
Your data is migrated and reconciled, key users test real scenarios including a trial VAT return, and every team is trained on its own work.
04
Go live and support
We go live with you, stay close through the first weeks and remain available for questions, improvements and upgrades.

Ask an Odoo consultant
Is OzonLayer an official Odoo partner for the UAE?
Yes. OzonLayer IT Services is an official Odoo Silver Partner, listed in the Odoo partner directory. We serve UAE businesses remotely from our teams in Riyadh, London and Pakistan, with on-site visits by arrangement.
Does Odoo support UAE VAT and the VAT201 return?
Yes. Odoo’s UAE localisation includes 5% standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt and reverse-charge VAT, and a VAT return report in the FTA’s VAT201 layout. Your team reviews the figures in Odoo and files the return on EmaraTax.
Is Odoo ready for UAE e-invoicing?
Under Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025, e-invoicing becomes mandatory from 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more and from 1 July 2027 for others. Invoices go through an Accredited Service Provider, so we prepare your Odoo data and connect it to the provider you appoint.
Can we run mainland and free zone companies in one Odoo database?
Yes. Odoo runs several companies in one database, each with its own settings, taxes and reports, plus transactions between them. We confirm the tax treatment of each entity with your accountant during discovery.
Do you have an office in the UAE?
No. UAE projects are delivered online by our teams in Riyadh, London and Pakistan, with on-site visits by arrangement. Riyadh is one hour behind the UAE, so workshops, testing and training fit the UAE working day.
Does Odoo have UAE payroll?
Yes. Odoo Payroll, an Odoo Enterprise app, has a UAE localisation covering salary structures, allowances, leave, end-of-service provisions and WPS salary files. We check your payroll rules against it during discovery.
How long does an Odoo implementation take?
It depends on scope. A company on a few standard apps can often go live within a few weeks, while groups with several entities, customisation or integrations usually take a few months. We agree a phased plan after discovery.
How much does Odoo implementation cost in the UAE?
Cost depends on users and companies, the apps in scope, customisation, integrations, data migration and training. Odoo bills Enterprise subscriptions separately from our services. Book a free consultation and we will send you a scoped proposal.
